What to Expect

Here is what to expect on your first visit

1. Health

The first step for a new Chiropractic patient is to fill in a complete health history form. Old injuries, chronic problems and your present symptoms are recorded. The required forms will help us gain some information about yourself and your condition. Members of our staff are always available for a complete and thorough discussion.

2. Consultation

At Cloud Chiropractic Wellness & Rehab our doctors will review your health history and begin a conversation. This is important so the doctors are informed on your unique body. When the doctors are informed of the patient’s history they can determine the best treatment going forward.

3. Examination

Following the consultation with the doctor, you will receieve a complete chiropractic examination. This will consist of thorough testing of orthopedic, neurologic, postural, physical and chiropractic specific examinations. Subluxations are determined by proper palpation of the spine, range of motion studies, and instrument testing. The examinations will help the doctor gain valuable information regarding your condition so that a better understanding of how chiropractic can help you.

4. In Office X-Rays

After a thorough examination in assessing your condition, the doctor will then decide if X-rays are necessary. X-rays are sometimes required to get a full evaluation of a patient. The need for X-ray is considered on a case by case basis. Our office utilizes the latest digital X-rays and radiographic technology. The doctor will take full-length X-rays of the spine while the patient is standing. Full-length X-rays show the spine in its natural and weight-bearing state. X-rays will allow the doctor to determine if you have disc degeneration pathologies, arthritis, or a condition that may be contradictory to treatment.

5. Report on Findings

Once all the information and examination have been performed, the patients are seen either the following day or two after their initital examination at a time is that is convenient for them. On the second visit, the doctor will review all of the findings of the examination and x-rays with you and explain everything is detail in order for you to completely understand your specific case. The doctor will also make treatment recommendations to address your needs. Insurance coverage and payment arrangements will also be discussed on this visit so that charges and financial obligations are never a mystery to you. The choice of going through with care is made by you.

6. Treatment

Most of our patients begin to see results from the very first treatment. Our specific adjustments and effective alignment of the body is interactive with the patient, gentle enough for kids, yet effective to restore proper function and movement for adults of all ages. Your treatment may include spinal adjustments, physiotherapy, massage therapy or other soft tissue therapies.
